Feeling panic or feeling fearful when meditating on the breath
This is not unusual if you’re not used to being still and quiet. It can be very unpleasant but it soon passes. ….

  • You could slow your out-breaths and let gravity pull the weight of the body down towards the floor.
  • Feel the earth beneath you, the contact between the body and the surface upon which you are resting, and reassure yourself that you are safe in the room.
  • Remind yourself that these feelings will soon pass.”
